The extent of the disdain for the Bush Administration is hard to overestimate. According to polls over 75% of Americans are glad he’s going and they don’t want to hear from him in the future either. The amount of the damage done to the United States by the policies and corruptive practices over the last eight years is astounding. Complicit with the Bush in-crowd is his Party, the Republican Party.
They have saved his derriere countless times by standing up for him, by blocking corrective legislation, and by propagandizing blame on anyone or anything not Bush or Republican. And yet it was the refusal of the Democratic Party that was voted into Congress in the majority in 2006 to change the direction of the Bush Administration that guaranteed two more unnecessary years of pain and suffering. And they’re the people who were elected to run the country for the good of America.
The failure has been historic.
There is no need to go thru a rehash of the destruction of America by this insidious bunch, all who have lived during the reign are aware of the depravity and immorality of this Administration.
But I just have to mention that the failed Economy, the unnecessary Wars, the stripping of rights guaranteed by the Constitution, the Debt piled up and left for the already strapped citizen to assume, the Glorification of torture, the hiring of reporters to propagandize for the Administration, and the job loss for this year over 2 million wage earners facing a bleak future, and on and on, and on.
What is amazing to me is how even a small handful of people could find anything kind to say about this most infamous President. Any yet on C-Span a few mornings ago, the subject soliciting comments from the listeners was “Who do you think is the best President in the History of the United States?” If you thought Bush wouldn’t get any votes you would be wrong. Several souls called in and claimed Bush. Two really stood out to me. One of them claimed that he was the best president because he was so moral and a Christian! The other one claimed that she thought he was the best President because he ran against Obama! Can you believe those two? But they were much more aware than the several who called in to claim that Obama was our best President ever. Incredulous!
There are some people out there that shouldn’t be trusted to spell their name correctly. This non-scientific poll illustrated to me just exactly what is wrong with our country. It is filled with people who have no clue. About 33% of the American public still supports Bush and his minions. Yes, in spite of all the visible evidence of his abject failure, they still support him.
What can we do to avert any future repeat of the Bush Administration? Well first, what allowed such a thing to occur? I submit that it was Party loyalty. That there are those who would vote for their party no matter what indications warn the voter to be vigilant. And I think that is what brought Bush back in 2004.
But how about the Democrats, didn’t they know that they were elected to stop Bush? Yes, they did. So why didn’t they? I submit that they wanted to inherit the framework of deceit and deception laid down by the Republicans, and they wanted to use that framework to get a jumpstart in their own immoral and unethical corruption. So I’m saying that both parties are useless to Americans who want the best for America. If that assumption is correct, then what is there to do?
There must be punishment for criminal behavior. The new Administration coming in has the wherewithal to bring charges against the perpetrators of these crimes. I for one will demand they do so. But we must also break this Party Loyalty aberration.
Therefore my suggestion is to choose the last party that had the power to serve America and yet refused to do so and ignore them into history’s dustbin. That would be the Republican Party. I will never again vote for a Candidate running as a Republican. If enough concerned American citizens would join in this activity, the Party would be fatally punished and would never again be a viable political force. That would be a punishment all Political Parties could understand.
We would also be sending a warning by the two suggested actions, punishing the individual criminal activity and also punishing the Party involvement of enabling and allowing those individual criminals to continue: A warning that criminal activity has an punishment outcome that good American citizens are willing to deliver. And that the punishment will be swift and sure.
America deserves better and if we don’t draw a line in the dirt and say, “It stops here”, then it won’t.
